Parramatta should give Jarryd Hayne a new contract: Johns
Rugby league immortal Andrew Johns says Jarryd Hayne deserves a new contract with Parramatta, following his performances over the last month.
Hayne was heavily criticised at the start of the season for a series of below-par performances, before he was sidelined with injury for an extended period.
But his improved performances in recent weeks have seen the Eels put in more competitive showings, and Johns says Hayne should be rewarded.
“Jarryd Hayne’s performances over the last month have said one thing: ‘sign me up’,” Johns said.
“So I think they will be signing him up, or someone should be signing him up. He’s been the best player for the Eels by a country mile.”

“I’m very tempted to tip the Bulldogs,” said Johns.
“This is a real danger game for the Broncos.
“The only reason I’m going for the Broncos is because there’s no David Klemmer for the Bulldogs.”
The match between the Roosters and Cowboys will be the last time Johnathan Thurston comes up against Cooper Cronk, and you can see that live on Nine from 7:00pm Saturday.
“Roosters will win this, but I don’t think they’ll have it all their own way,” Johns said.
“The Roosters to win by 10 or 12 points.”
