NRL expert tips and predictions - Round 19

Andrew Johns has revealed the team poised to be the biggest threat to the Melbourne Storm’s impenetrable defence.

After a slightly slow start, the Storm have clicked into gear and are up near the top of the table once again.

However, Johns believes this week’s opponent, the New Zealand Warriors, have the firepower to top the reigning champs.

“If anyone plays the style of attack that can worry the Storm, it’s the Warriors,” Johns said.

“If you go through your set plays, the Storm just eat it up because defensively they’re so well organised and so well drilled.

“But the off-loads, the ad-lib footy can worry the Storm as well as big power running through the middle.

The two teams clashed earlier in the season with the Storm turning in one of their best performances of the season in a 50-10 hiding at AAMI Park.

The Warriors come into the game off the back of arguably their best performance, in a 26-6 win over the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium.

Despite the Storm welcoming back Origin stars Billy Slater, Will Chambers and Josh Addo-Carr, Johns predicted the Warriors to shock the reigning champions at Mt. Smart Stadium.

Phil Gould is still clinging onto a two-point lead at the top of the Wide World of Sports tipping competition, but he has seen his lead dwindle in the recent weeks. It’ll be interesting to see whether the great man can hold off the competition.
