‘Knowing our coach’: Broncos star clips Madge in juicy post-game interview
Broncos flyer Josiah Karapani took a jab at under-fire coach Michael Maguire after Brisbane ended its deplorable season with a 34-20 win over Canterbury on Thursday night.
Karapani, the Broncos winger who twice landed himself in trouble with Queensland Police this season, set tongues wagging during an interview on ABC radio after the Accor Stadium clash.

“Do you guys get a decent chunk of time off now?” Jillaroos great Ruan Sims said.
Karapani couldn’t help himself.
“Ahh, hmm, knowing our coach, probably not,” the Brisbane speedster replied.
ABC radio host Andrew Moore had some sage advice for Reece Walsh, after the superstar Broncos fullback “liked” a Fox League Instagram post last week that was critical of the club’s handling of Adam Reynolds’ retirement.
“Look, just a tip to Reece Walsh – if that quote ends up on Instagram, don’t ‘like’ it, Reece,” Moore said.
Maguire wasn’t specifically asked in his post-game press conference about Karapani’s sledge, but he was asked about his off-season plan for his team.
“We’ll get together as a team and a playing group and staff, and then we’ll go through things that we want to plan for, for what’s ahead, and then I’m really keen for them to have a break, to be honest,” the two-time premiership coach said.
“I want them to go away and enjoy a bit of downtime. They’re all professionals, the boys, the way they go about looking after themselves.
“To be able to go away after what we’ve been through together, put that aside and enjoy a little bit of a break [is important].
“And they’re all excited about being able to come back and get ourselves on the path we wanna go on.”
Rumours of a divide between Maguire and his playing group have been flying around all year.
The rumours exploded when Payne Haas signed with South Sydney on the eve of the season, and again when defence coach Ben Te’o quit the club in March.
The Broncos will undertake a full-scale review into a hellish season that saw them go from NRL premiers to winning only eight games and finishing in the bottom four.
