Epic moment as Tigers centre ends four-year hiatus with stunning NFL-style assist
Updated . First published at
Wests Tigers centre Patrick Herbert ended a four-year absence from the NRL in style, with a spectacular try assist and then his own four-pointer in a dominant first half against the Knights at Campbelltown.
Herbert was a late inclusion for the Tigers having not played since he was at the Titans in 2022.
With the Tigers leading 12-0, Apisai Koroisau threw a pass to Herbert on the fourth tackle close to the line.

"Patrick Herbert thinks he's a quarterback," Nine caller Brenton Speed said.
Phil Gould was in awe.
"That's an incredible pass," he said.
"The collision was significant and he's nearly got his feet off the ground ... He's in the air and throws the ball quarterback style. How he got the power to actually launch that ball is incredible."

Brad Fittler described it as a "brave play" with the Tigers shooting to a 16-0 lead.
Herbert then put the cherry on top with five minutes left in the half when he broke free on the right side before throwing a dummy to get past Fletcher Hunt and score.

Jahream Bula added to the tally when he went over before half-time to make it a 28-4 lead at the break.
With the wind at their backs, the Knights couldn't charge on for a comeback after half-time.
Turuva crossed first for his hat-trick before Newcastle centre Dane Gagai returned fire.
Tries to Jahream Bula and Terrell May put the result beyond doubt with Fletcher Hunt and Trey Mooney scoring consolation tries with the final score 42-22.
