'No one knows what's going on': Cameron Smith, Phil Gould put Dragons halves on notice

Cameron Smith has put Daniel Atkinson and Kyle Flanagan on notice after the Dragons' winless streak continued at the weekend.

The Dragons showed promise in round one in Las Vegas, losing by one in golden point against Canterbury.

Performances since then have tailed off, with a 46-20 loss against Melbourne and a 30-20 defeat to the Eels on Sunday.

Smith believes coach Shane Flanagan needs more from his two halves.

"They've got a very big, very physical forward pack and athletic outside backs, I think their halves need to stand up and organise more," he said on Nine's 100% Footy.

"We saw a couple pictures from the weekend where they got their hands on the ball and shovelled it out wide and there's nothing organised, no one knows what's going on.

"It's up to Flanagan and Atkinson to get that sorted."

The Dragons constantly attacked in the second half against Parramatta and had an even share of possession.

In terms of completion, the Red V were at 74 per cent compared to the Eels' 86 per cent.

Phil Gould claimed the Dragons had Parramatta "at their mercy but couldn't execute a thing".

"It's a game the Dragons should've won, I still can't believe they lost it," he said.

"They had every opportunity to do it and had no idea how to go about it."

Allana Ferguson added it's the same old story from last season.

"They'd be a frustrating team to support," she said.

"This is a similar story to so many of their games last season as well, it was well within reach ... it's so frustrating to see they've got the players there, when they get it right they look really powerful, really dangerous."

The Dragons next face the Titans on Sunday.
