Sydney Roosters star Billy Smith will miss his side's round two grudge match against the Rabbitohs after an E-bike crash this week.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the gun centre was riding in the Moore Park precinct with teammate Egan Butcher when they were involved an accident.

Butcher walked away relatively unscathed, but there were concerns Smith had suffered a head injury during the incident according to witness reports.

Nine's Danny Weidler has since confirmed the 26-year-old would miss the game due to a concussion. Smith is also set to miss the side's round three clash against Penrith.

"Billy Smith out of massive clash with Souths - he was concussed after coming off his e-bike in the Moore Park area," Weidler wrote via X.

"Must also be out of next match v Panthers. Understand he required stitches."

Roosters players regularly move to and from training on E-bikes or scooters, while Angus Crichton spent much of last year with his arm bandaged due to an E-skateboard crash.

Smith has had a luckless run throughout his career, rupturing his ACL three times before the age of 22, as well as shoulder and foot injuries in recent seasons.

His potential absence would be a major blow for the Tricolours, with the club's outside back depth already tested with Tommy Talau sidelined due to a knee injury.
