'You've got to worry': Fresh fears for Victor Radley after another nasty head knock in Roosters loss

There are fresh fears for Victor Radley's history of head knocks and the tackling technique of the Roosters lock after he suffered another nasty hit as his side lost 14-6 to the Warriors on Friday night.

Radley braced low for a tackle and copped a heavy knock to the head in the first half of the Auckland match.

The 27-year-old passed a head injury assessment after being ordered off by the independent doctor, but the sight of Radley leaving the field to be tested for possible concussion symptoms has become worryingly common.

In the Roosters' opening-round match against the Broncos, Radley's night ended early when he collided with teammate James Tedesco in an unusual incident in defence. The collision sidelined him for last week's spirited 38-32 victory over the Panthers in Penrith under the league's 11-day stand-down policy.

On Friday night, Roosters hooker Connor Watson went off for a HIA late in the first half, having copped a knock while tackling a Warriors opponent, and was ruled out of the game.

The night of Warriors winger Roger Tuivasa-Sheck ended in the 56th minute when he limped off with a leg injury.

Tigers legend Steve Roach expressed concern as Radley left the field for his assessment.

"We see a lot of head knocks now and generally you think it's for high tackles and so forth, but a lot of times — and that was a perfect example — you get your head in a wrong position and get hit like that and you're out cold for a couple for seconds," Roach said on the Fox League coverage.

"... You've got to worry about the technique of Victor. He goes in at 100 miles an hour every tackle he makes.

"I think he's got to adjust that tackling [technique] just a little bit."

The Roosters nabbed the opening points when front-rower Naufahu Whyte barged over in the 22nd minute, but the Warriors hit back through centre Ali Leiataua less than five minutes later.

And although the hosts trailed 6-4 at half-time, they ripped the game from the Roosters through two unanswered tries in the final 15 minutes.

Five-eighth Chanel Harris-Tavita crossed for a try and Leiataua bagged his second shortly after.

The Roosters will meet the Titans at Allianz Stadium next Friday, while the Warriors will face Wests Tigers in Campbelltown next Sunday.

Watson won't be available for the Roosters due to his concussion.
