Reece Walsh might not be coached by Kevin Walters at club level anymore but the electric fullback admits being reunited with him at the Kangaroos is what he's looking forward to the most.

Walters will have a tough selection call ahead of him after Walsh's heroics in the grand final, putting pressure on the incumbent Dylan Edwards.

But there's no doubt he'll look glowingly on Walsh's comments in camp.

"I'm excited to see Kev, so should be a [good] one," he told media upon arrival at the team motel.

Walsh was then point blank asked if he wants the No.1 jersey.

And in scary warning to the rest of the NRL, he believes there's still improvement to come.

"You'd hope so. I'm only 23, so definitely mate," he said.

"I feel like with good people around me, a good circle, that's going to keep me accountable. I only want the best for my mates. I want to grow and I want to be the best person I can be and the best player I can be."
