Where else would we expect a dramatic finish other than Leichhardt Oval on a Sunday afternoon?

With scores level at 20-20 and just seconds left on the clock, Adam Doueihi found himself with the ball in front of the posts and kicked one of the wobbliest field goal attempts to seal victory over the Titans.

"Adam Doueihi take a bow, that is a tremendous kick with the season on the line," Cooper Cronk said on Fox League.

Gold Coast hit the lead early when Jayden Campbell threw a sizzling cut-out pass to put Jaylan De Groot over.

Taylan May then gave his new side a 6-4 lead with his first try since returning. He had a try assist moments later when Jeral Skelton scored.

But the Titans had to lead at half time thanks to a Phillip Sami try and De Groot's double.

Neither side could break open the game in the second half and when Api Koroisau hit a penalty goal in the 57th minute it was 14-14. He hit another thanks to a scrum infringement to make it 16-14.

AJ Brimson put the Titans in front with 15 minutes to go and it looked like the winner.

However, Skelton had a double in the 77th minute to make matters interesting. Doueihi's kick from the sideline was unsuccessful and it was 20-20.

A dangerous tackle from Reagan Campbell-Gillard gave the Tigers attacking territory in the dying stages.

On the third tackle, Jarome Luai shaped to pass inside and turned Jojo Fifita inside out. Luai was cut down just before the tryline and Cronk was calling for the field goal attempt from the commentary box.

The hosts looked messy in attack and on the last tackle Alex Seyfarth was in dummy half. He passed to Latu Fainu who then threw it out the back to Doueihi.

Doueihi hit the attempt low and ugly but all that mattered was it when over the bar.

"I'm really proud, I work on my craft during the week and practice for these types of scenarios and the goalkick I was disappointed with, I usually back myself to make them," he said post-game.

"But to come back Leichhardt again and give the fans a win ... it's a good feeling."
