'Significant damage': Cyclone Alfred aftermath forces Gold Coast Titans to escape to Sydney
The aftermath of Cyclone Alfred has forced the Gold Coast Titans to relocate to Sydney as the club's training ground and facilities remain underwater.
The club confirmed their home training facilities had been significantly damaged by heavy rainfall, with water levels currently sitting above the crossbar on the goalposts.
Aware of the possibility that the facilities may be unable to be accessed, team staffers removed all high performance equipment from the venue prior to the cyclone's landfall.

Gold Coast will commence training ahead of their season opening clash against the Bulldogs at a venue in Sydney Olympic Park.
The team will remain at the Sydney-based training venue until at least next Monday.

"First and foremost, our thoughts as a club are for those across our region that are doing it tough as a result of this weather event and immense rainfall that has followed," Gold coast CEO Steve Mitchell said in a statement.
"Like many, we have had significant damage to our facilities as well and that means we need to change how we operate while we also mop up the damage.

"Working our high performance centre unusable for training this week, we will send our team to Sydney early to ensure they can properly prepare for our first game of the season this Sunday against the Bulldogs at Belmore.
"At the end of what will have been a big week for our community, we hope that a great result against the Bulldogs on Sunday will bring our members and fans some much needed joy."
The clash in Belmore will be the start of the Titans 2025 campaign, having had a bye in the first round of the season.
