'There's some niggle there': Addin Fonua-Blake leaves field early during Sharks' win against Manly

A stunning 90 metre try to Luke Brooks wasn't enough for the Sea Eagles as the Sharks snapped a two-match losing streak in Perth.

Cronulla's dominant first half was enough to see them home in a 24-18 win, bringing relief to coach Craig Fitzgibbon and get the side back in touch with the top eight.

There was one concern though with Sharks prop Addin Fonua-Blake sending a scare through the side's camp after leaving the field early.

Fonua-Blake finished the match with 10 minutes left and was captured pointing at his groin area. The prop then limped up the tunnel before full time.

Post-game, Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon gave an update on his recruit's fitness.

"I asked him after, he said he felt it early and then kept playing with it, I would suggest there's some niggle there but I don't think it's significant," he said.

A sluggish start from both sides meant there was no points in the first half an hour before Samuel Stonestreet scored a double before the break to make it 8-0.

Cronulla's lead was extended in the 47th minute when Will Kennedy scored.

However, the Sea Eagles weren't done. Clayton Faulalo was first to score for Manly before it was Brooks claiming an intercept try in the 58th minute to make it 14-12.

"That's a huge try for Manly," Kevin Walters said on Fox League.

Both sides then went try for try as Mawene Hiroti scored for the Sharks. Thomas Hazleton put the result beyond doubt with his own four-pointer with five minutes left.

Daly Cherry-Evans finished the match with a consolation try but it was Cronulla's night to savour.
