Craig Bellamy to continue Storm coaching career for another season

Craig Bellamy will remain as Melbourne Storm head coach for at least another season in a major boost for the powerhouse NRL club.

The 66-year-old has been at the helm for more than two decades and has shown no signs of slowing down, despite interest in his status seemingly popping up each year.

Bellamy had a year left on his contract and the club have now confirmed he will coach on in season 2026, as first reported by Nine's Trent Kniese.

"The talk of the town in the sporting world is about the future of Craig Bellamy," Kniese said on 9News Melbourne on Wednesday.

"In years gone by, the 66-year-old has made a decision on his future in May. He is expected to come out as early as tomorrow and announce that he will coach on.

"Already a remarkably long and successful tenure could get even longer."

Storm boss Justin Rodski hinted earlier this year that Bellamy could continue beyond his current deal, such is his renewed passion within the club and their on-field success.

The three-time premiership winner has been touted as a potential option to coach one of the new expansion franchises, but that appears unlikely to happen.

Bellamy will coach his 600th game for the club later this season, which will see him move past Brian Smith and become third on the all-time list.

Wayne Bennett (950*) and Tim Sheens (693) are the only coaches who will remain above Bellamy once he reaches the incredible milestone.
