Serial offender Nelson Asofa-Solomona was one of two players sent to the sin bin in a dramatic two-minute period in the heavyweight clash between Melbourne and Brisbane on Thursday night, won by the Broncos 30-14.

The giant Storm prop was sent to the sin bin in the 37th minute of the Suncorp Stadium clash after hitting Broncos bench forward Ben Talty with a shoulder charge. Talty passed his head injury assessment.

In the 35th minute, Brisbane centre Deine Mariner was marched off by referee Grant Atkins due to being offside, with the whistle-blower cracking down because three Broncos players had been offside in quick succession.

Broncos captain Patrick Carrigan blew up, arguing Melbourne had not been penalised for repeatedly being offside and saying Brisbane had not been warned.

Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy, who was visibly filthy with his team in his post-match press conference, offered few words when asked about Asofa-Solomona's latest instance of foul play, for which he was reported.

"I'm not quite sure what's going to happen with it," Bellamy said.

"But it's disappointing. It's disappointing."

On Friday morning, the NRL's charge sheet confirmed Asofa-Solomona would be suspended for three games if he entered an early guilty plea, and four matches if he fought the charge at the judiciary and lost.

A four-game ban would wipe him out for the entire finals series.
