Api Koroisau has officially re-signed with the Wests Tigers for a further two seasons.

In a massive boost, Koroisau has committed until the end of 2028, resisting the urge to hit the open market in November and remaining part of Benji Marshall's squad.

The 32-year-old would have likely been a marquee target for the Perth Bears ahead of their introduction to the competition, while a host of other clubs would have been lining up to attempt to lure the former NSW Blues hooker away from the Tigers.

"This club has become family to me," Koroisau said in a club statement.

"I've felt nothing but support from the players, staff and especially Benji - he's someone I really admire and enjoy playing under.

"I'm stoked to re-sign and can't wait to help lead this team for a few more years."

Koroisau's extension comes after young gun Tallyn Da Silva was granted an early release to sign with Parramatta last month.

Tigers officials took a calculated risk by letting Da Silva walk away early before Koroisau had formally re-signed, but any concerns were allayed on Tuesday.

Marshall was pleased to get a deal done with the three-time premiership winner.

"Api is a great player but more so he is the heart and soul of this team," he said.

"His leadership, experience and energy are invaluable. Having him commit to our future is massive for the direction we are heading in.

"We are thrilled to have him and his wonderful family here long term."

Koroisau joins the likes of Terrell May, Sunia Turuva, Samuela Fainu and Fonua Pole in committing to the Tigers long-term, while Kai Pearce-Paul will join the club in 2026.
