Roosters centre Michael Jennings faces a nervous wait with the match review committee after he was put on report for a high shot during a tense 34-30 win against Manly.

The incident happened in the 30th minute when Jennings chased through on a kick with Jason Saab going off for an HIA after the tackle.

"That right arm might have just snuck around when he made contact ... which can happen," league great Greg Alexander said on Fox League.

Saab's departure ended up being a blow for the Sea Eagles with the winger failing to return.

The Roosters were on fire at Allianz Stadium, pushing out to a 22-0 lead inside 20 minutes with tries to Joseph Suaalii, James Tedesco, Luke Keary and Dom Young.

Eventually Manly hit back through Luke Brooks but Victor Radley was next to go over.

"One of the games of the season," commentator Dan Ginnane said at full time.

Despite the disappointment of a loss, it was an incredible fightback from the Sea Eagles considering they lost Saab and Reuben Garrick in the first half. Josh Aloiai also battled a shin injury.
