Reece Robson will don new colours in 2026 after putting pen to paper on a long-term deal with the Sydney Roosters in a major signing coup.

The NSW State of Origin hooker has agreed to a four-year deal that will keep him in Sydney until the end of 2030.

He will depart the Cowboys at the end of 2025, the club has confirmed.

"We tabled our best possible offer but unfortunately were not able to compete with the final offer Reece received," Micheal Luck, Cowboys general manager of football, said.

"Reece now has a young family and we respect his decision.

"He will continue to be an important member of our squad for 2025 and we look forward to his contributions in his final season at the club."

Roosters Head of Recruitment Daniel Anderson confirmed the signing on Friday.

"We're pleased to have secured Reece's signature," Anderson said in a statement.

"We look forward to welcoming him to the Roosters in 2026."

Robson joined the Cowboys in 2020 following two seasons with the Dragons.

The 26-year-old earned his Origin selection last year and has since been called up for NSW duties five times across the past two series.

His addition to the Roosters comes at a much-needed time, with the club having missed out in the race to score veteran halfback Ben Hunt's signature.

But for Roosters hooker Brandon Smith, it places greater uncertainty over his feature with his contract set to expire at the end of 2025.
