Shock clause revealed in Jarome Luai's five-year Wests Tigers contract
A shock clause has been revealed in Jarome Luai's five-year deal at the Wests Tigers.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the contract has an option in Luai's favour for the final three years of his announced tenure at the club.
It means Luai could walk away from the Tigers after just two years and would be able to negotiate with rival NRL teams from November next year for the 2027 season.

Luai would then have the option to remain a free agent each November until his deal finishes at Concord at the end of 2029.
Should the playmaker opt to walk away from his new club or test the market, it could see both Luai and halves partner Lachlan Galvin off-contract at the same time.

The Herald also reports that Luai's management pushed for the options when speaking with former Tigers boss Justin Pascoe, but those efforts were denied at the time.
Pascoe departed the joint venture a year ago and allowed Shane Richardson to take over, with the former Souths chief executive obliging to the request from Luai.
The contract clauses for Luai places added pressure on Benji Marshall heading into next season, with the Tigers coming off the back of a third-straight wooden spoon.
Luai joins the likes of Terrell May, Sunia Turuva and Jack Bird as the club's recruits.
