'Looking forward to repaying them': Star half Braydon Trindall signs three-year extension with Cronulla

Cronulla Sharks half Braydon Trindall has inked a new long-term contract with the club.
Already committed to the Sharks for next season, Trindall has signed on for an additional three seasons, tying him to the club until the end of the 2028 season.
The 25-year-old hit career-best form in the back half of the 2024 season to help the Sharks on their preliminary-final run.

Stepping up as a key playmaker in the absence of Nicho Hynes, Trindall featured in 20 first-grade matches in 2024, including all three of Cronulla's finals matches.
He finished the season with 12 tries and 29 goals, a highlight including his two-try effort in the Sharks' 26-18 semi-final win over the Cowboys.
It was thought the Sharks may struggle to re-sign Trindall with the five-eighth quickly becoming one of the most sought-after players in the league.

Trindall said in a club statement he was not interested in joining a rival club.
"I didn't want to go anywhere else," he said.
"The club has put a lot of trust in me over the years, so I'm just looking forward to repaying them and repaying the fans.

"I just love this place; I love the club, I love the people here, I just love the whole organisation.
"I came here when I was 18 [years old], did a lot of growing and still have a lot of growing to do. I'm just looking forward to it and I couldn't see myself anywhere else."
The Wee Waa product joined the Sharks in 2018, featuring in the club's premiership-winning Jersey Flegg side.
The following year, Trindall was an integral member of the Newtown Jets team which took out both the NSW Cup and the NRL State Championship.
Trindall made his NRL debut against Brisbane in round 12 of the 2020 season and has since gone on to play 71 first-grade games, scoring 21 tries and kicking 84 goals.
