The Dolphins have locked down State of Origin forward Tom Gilbert on a long contract extension.

The 22-year-old has extended his deal by three years, now committing to the southern Queensland club until the end of 2028.

He follows teammates Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, Jeremy Marshall-King, and Connelly Lemuelu in extending their deals with the NRL's newest team.

"It's also been a privilege to do it alongside this group of players and with my family right by my side.

"You can see that the Dolphins are set up for a bright future and I want to be part of it."

The Dolphins will add Thomas Flegler to the forward pack next year, while backs Jake Averillo and Herbie Farnworth also join the roster for 2024.
