Former Sydney Roosters centre Shaun Kenny-Dowall has pleaded guilty to a drug possession charge in a Sydney court today.

Kenny-Dowall's lawyer indicated the plea to a Deputy Registrar in Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court today after the charge was amended to record the amount of drug as .29 of a gram instead of .46 of a gram.

He was handed a 12 month good behaviour bond with no conviction recorded.

Kenny-Dowall was arrested at Sydney's Ivy nightclub on Friday May 5 after being caught with half a gram of cocaine in a resealable bag.

The former New Zealand international was stood down by the club and was later released by the club.

He had been linked to a lucrative move to Newcastle but those talks were put on hold after he was arrested and charged.

Kenny-Dowall wasn't the only player caught out with Melbourne's Jesse Bromwich and Gold Coast's Kevin Proctor stood down and fined by their respective clubs for alleged cocaine use.

Cronulla chairman Damian Keogh also was forced to stand down from his position and placed on a good behaviour bond after being arrested for drug possession.
