With the 2015 season done and dusted, NRL fans are already looking to next year with renewed optimism and a raft of potential new stars on the horizon.
Just as one door closes with the retirements of crowd favourites and established stars, another door opens for the next generation of lightning fast backs and powerhouse young forwards.
Here are 10 of the best young stars with huge potential expected to begin their NRL journey in 2016.
Ashley Taylor: The 2015 U/20s player of the year will be the Titans five-eighth in 2016.
Latrell Mitchell: The skillful teen is the Roosters next gun fullback.
Tom Wright: Manly's strong running rugby convert shapes as a star five-eighth.
Te Maire Martin: The young Kiwi will be groomed by Penrith to replace half Peter Wallace.
Gideon Mosby-Gela: The flying Cowboys winger scored 39 tries in 22 U/20s games in 2015.
Caleb Timu: A powerhouse backrower touted as the next Gorden Tallis for Brisbane.
Billy McConnachie: Nicknamed 'Madness', the Tigers signing is a hard-hitting backrower.
