Irish AFL great Stynes immortalised at MCG
When Jim Stynes' widow Samantha saw the bronze statue of her husband unveiled at the MCG, she instantly pictured the late AFL great running onto the field.
Mrs Stynes was overwhelmed by how beautifully her husband had been portrayed.
"I can visualise Jim playing when I see that," she said.
"It takes me back to 15 years ago seeing him on the field - the level of detail with the glove and the thigh pad and we've still got those boots."

Stynes played 264 games (244 in a row) and won the Brownlow Medal in 1991. (AAP)
