Hayne's transformation into NFL behemoth
WWOS staff
Jarryd Hayne's dreams of playing for the San Francisco 49ers may rest on one important factor – transforming into an NFL behemoth.
The former Eel's physique has seen a number of changes over the years but none as noticeably since joining the 49ers.
Weighing in at 220 pounds (99 kilograms) on the team's official website, Hayne looks as if he's bulked up in his bid to make the 53-man roster.
Take a look back at his career and make up your own mind as to whether the 'Hayne Plane' has turned into a destructive bomber.
Bulking up noticeably since joining the squad earlier this year.
He was asked if his size was a concern when he first joined the squad.
"It really didn’t stand out to me," he hit back at the suggestion he was too small.
But the 27-year-old's body has gone through a dramatic transformation during his career.
He blasted into the NRL as a lean but lethal 18-year-old in 2006.
His still-growing body didn't stop him from being picked for the Kangaroos.
He started to fill out as he received his first NSW State of Origin nod in 2007.
And led the Parramatta Eels to a grand final qualifier with the Melbourne Storm.
But the off-the-field work was most noticeable in 2009.
