'Paid the ultimate price': Horror shot ends stunning Adam Scott comeback
Adam Scott has cut a dejected figure after blowing a chance at a come-from-behind Australian Open victory.
Starting his final round on the back nine at The Australian at eight-under, the veteran great was five shots behind the leaders.
But a stunning three-under back nine had him only two strokes behind when he made the turn.

Birdies at the third and fourth put him into a share of the lead, before another birdie at the sixth put him into the outright lead.

But with his next shot from the tee on the par-4 seventh, Scott hit it way left and the ball ended up at the bottom of the fence that lines the practice fairway.
Although the ball was inside the fence, the ruling was made it was out-of-bounds, due to it sitting inside the edge of the poles supporting the net.
Scott had hit a provisional ball off the tee, but it was in thick rough and he could only punch it down the fairway.
His approach left him with a difficult putt which he was unable to make, and he tapped in for a seven.

Speaking after his round, Scott said his tee shot on the seventh was "just a bad swing".
"It's tough out there - it was even tough early but it got tougher," he said.
"I was making a lot of birdies, had a couple of bogeys, then unfortunately just a bad swing on the worst hole to do it probably.
"I paid the ultimate price there.
"It's a shame, because it would've been great to have a really special round and maybe have a chance sitting in the clubhouse."
Scott finished his round with pars on his final two holes, to finish the tournament at 11-under.
