Gallen, Watts fight over inside first round
Paul Gallen's grudge bout against Anthony Watts was stopped inside the first round after the former NRL bad boy dislocated his shoulder.
The bout at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion lasted 88 seconds before referee Mick Heafey called it off because Watts was unable to continue.
In the main event, former middleweight world champion Daniel Geale took a step towards earning another title shot with a unanimous points win over Jarrod Fletcher.
Gallen landed the first few blows of the bout.
But then Gallen got caught by a good shot from Watts.
Watts pulled away in obvious distress after engaging.
Referee Heafey was forced to award the victory to Gallen.
Watts was released on bail from prison 16 weeks ago after three months behind bars.
"He got injured so what can you do? That's the way it goes," Gallen said after the fight.
Gallen did say Watts needed work on his rotator cuff rather than bench press.
He said he felt fine despite being hospitalised with a staph groin infection.
