Brilliant Sam Kerr, Ellie Carpenter on target for peerless Chelsea in magic day out for Matildas teammates
Matildas stars Ellie Carpenter and Sam Kerr were both on target for Chelsea to ensure the Women's Super League champions stayed on top of the table.
Right back Carpenter scored her first goal for Chelsea since signing from Lyon in the offseason.
The 25-year-old met Sandy Baltimore's low cross at the back post to open the scoring after six minutes at Stamford Bridge in London.

Striker Kerr then came off the bench to replace Carpenter in the second half as manager Sonia Bompastor went for the kill against the London City Lionesses.
The 32-year-old got a rousing reception from the home fans and Kerr rewarded them with a brilliant poacher's goal in added time.
Australia's captain pounced on a Lionesses mistake at the back and summed up the situation perfectly by lobbing goalkeeper Elene Lete and then punching the air in delight.

Carpenter and Kerr were backing up from the 3-0 midweek Matildas loss against England.
"As Chelsea, it's always difficult when you have to play a game after the international break," Bompastor said.
"You don't have time to prepare for the game in terms of tactical aspects and physical aspects, so there is not a lot you can do.
"The only thing is you can try to come into the game with fresh legs, and I think maybe the difference today between London City and us was the energy. We knew that before the game. I said to the girls at halftime, we need to play smart and to make sure we mentally make the effort to show more desire than in the first half.
"I think we did that quite well, because if you analyse the game, I don't think we conceded a lot, and we scored an early goal...
"The energy from our side was not where we wanted it to be.

"They showed a lot of confidence coming into the game, and they made it challenging for us. Every game is challenging, I didn't expect anything different."
The Australian goals meant Chelsea remain unbeaten this season and top of the table, a point clear of Manchester City.
City beat West Ham United 1-0 with Aoba Fujino scoring the winner.
