Brisbane Roar called out for 'blatant time-wasting' in controversial finish against Wanderers
Wanderers star Brandon Borrello has called out the Brisbane Roar over time-wasting in their 2-2 draw, suggesting players should have been carded for their actions.
The first half between both sides produced moments of brilliance, with all four goals scored inside 31 minutes.
After the half-time whistle it was a different state of affairs, particularly during injury time.

Brisbane Roar coach Ruben Zadkovich was on camera pointing to his watch and clutching at his hamstring before his side received a goal kick.

Goalkeeper Macklin Freke then dropped to the ground during the 96th minute to the jeers of Wanderers supporters.
"No doubt Brisbane are making the most of it ... never again should we complain about visiting teams coming to Australia wasting time or running down the clock, it happens everywhere, even here," caller Simon Hill said on Paramount+.

Eventually the full-time whistle blew, much to the frustration of the home fans.
Former A-League stalwart Roy O'Donovan was particularly scathing in his post-match analysis.
"That was a horrendous second half of football after such an entertaining first half," he said.
"I thought Brisbane, round eight, they're playing for a point, fair enough, but the time-wasting and blatant time-wasting, I can't believe what I was seeing. It just ruined the game, had Wanderers fans running down the steps, trying to wave the referee on, he wasn't booking anybody, didn't even book the goalkeeper in the last minute. It was a hard watch."
Borrello was then asked for his views post-match, who while disappointed with his side's defence, was critical of his rivals and the refereeing.
"It is a part of football, and you can't take it away from Brisbane Roar, they were smart in that sense, obviously they frustrated the hell out of us ... I may be calling them out but that was atrocious today, surely you can hand out a few yellows, if it's part of the game, and part of the rules for time-wasting, either add it on or send them off," he said.

Melbourne Victory legend Archie Thompson was also surprised at how blatant the tactics were, stating "I've not seen that in the A-League to that extent".
