Bolt dances in joy for world-beating Windies
Jamaican sprint star Usain Bolt has celebrated the West Indies' Twenty20 World Cup triumph by offering his own version of Dwayne Bravo's Champion song.
Bolt seemingly couldn't contain his joy in the wake of the dramatic World Cup final that saw West Indies batsman Carlos Brathwaite belt four consecutive sixes in the final over to hand his side the unlikeliest of victories over England.
Dressed only in tracksuit pants, a shirtless Gayle sang and danced in front of a camera, reciting the song made famous by Bravo.
"Champions, champions, champions, champions... West Indies are champions," Bolt repeated.
The sprinter's celebration mirrored those of the West Indies players, who sang and danced on the field at Kolkata before partying wildly in their dressing rooms and team bus.
The Windies went into the last over needing 19 to win and with expert death bowler Ben Stokes handed the ball, it looked like England would see out the win.
But Brathwaite held his nerve to fire the Windies to an unlikely four-wicket win with two balls to spare, leaving Stokes devastated on the field.
"To see Carlos play like that at his debut World Cup was just tremendous," an emotional West Indies skipper Darren Sammy said afterwards.
England captain Eoin Morgan refused to blame Stokes.
"It is cruel," Morgan told reporters after the match.
"He's going to be devastated.
"It will take ourselves the next couple of days to recover.
"We share everything we do. We stick together as a side. We share our pain, we share our success," a sombre-looking Morgan said.
"He's probably not hearing a lot right now. But I will tell him the exact same things.
"Hopefully in the future we will have a lot of success, I personally think we will. This side is at the very beginning of its progression."
Stokes thanked his teammates for their support.
"Overwhelmed by all the support of everyone after a disappointing last over," he said on Twitter.
Marlon Samuels meanwhile provided a venomous sub-plot to the West Indies celebrations by teeing off at Aussie spinning great Shane Warne.
The veteran, who smashed 85 runs off 66 balls, has had a running battle with Warne since an ugly confrontation during a Big Bash League match in 2013 anddedicated his man-of-the-match award to the Australian icon.
"I played a Test series in Australia (recently) and every day, Shane Warne has a problem with me," Samuels told reporters.
"I've never disrespected him.
"I don't know. Maybe because my face is real and his face is not?"
