'I don't agree with it': Usman Khawaja slams crowd behaviour as Lord's aftermath continues
Usman Khawaja has slammed crowd behaviour in the Ashes, declaring "I wouldn't want my kids to be around that" as the aftermath of Lord's continues.
The opening batsman was subject to abuse in the second Ashes Test after Alex Carey's stumping of Jonny Bairstow, and notably took exception to comments made by the crowd.
"I wasn't going to stand by and cop it, so I just talked to a few of them," Khawaja told Nine post-Test.
"A few of them were throwing out some pretty big allegations and I just called them up on it."

Since, the incident at Lord's, three MCC members were suspended after the club released a lengthy statement apologising to the Australian team.

Ahead of the fourth Test at Old Trafford, Khawaja criticised the England fans, but also called for Australia's crowds to behave better when England tour in 2024-25.
"I mean, they're rough. If you talk about it to England guys, they say we are equally as rough when (they go to Australia). I don't agree with it either way," Khawaja said.

"I don't think it's the right thing to do. Personally if I am coming to the cricket and watching the cricket, I wouldn't want my kids to be around that.
"If I saw that, I would 100 per cent make a complaint or just leave. I think some of the stuff can be pretty poor. Over at Edgbaston they were calling Travis Head a C-U ... you know what. I can't believe you can actually say that in a public domain anywhere."
Khawaja added the closeness of the crowd plays a factor, with the incident in the Long Room at Lord's heightened by the immediate proximity between players and members.
"MCC are all over it. I trust them to do the right thing," he said.
"I know watching a lot of sport and loving sport that it happens around the world. You watch the NBA, it happens there.
"Particularly when crowds can get real close to you, which they can in cricket. It is what it is, I don't agree with it. I have been doing it my whole life, it doesn't bother me. And if it does, I will let them know."
