Sussex sign Australian batsman Travis Head

Sussex have signed Australia batsman Travis Head as their overseas player for the entire 2020 season.

The 25-year-old was due to represent Sussex this summer before his call-up to the Australia squad for the Ashes.

Head, who has featured in 12 Tests, 42 one-day internationals and 16 Twenty20s for his country, will be available in all formats

"To have a high-quality international batsman like Travis on our staff in 2020 is very, very exciting," said Sussex head coach Jason Gillespie, who also in charge of Head's Big Bash franchise the Adelaide Strikers.

"We wanted a top-four batsman to improve our team and Travis will do that. I know he is excited, as are we, and I'm looking forward to seeing him put in some good performances for Sussex next year."
