Starc in angry confrontation in IPL

Australia's Mitchell Starc almost had a bat hurled in his direction in an angry confrontation with Kieron Pollard in the Indian Premier League overnight.

Starc, who was playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pollard's Mumbai Indians, took aim at the West Indian when he pulled away from the crease citing a distraction.The ball whizzed past Pollard's feet prompting him to throw his bat in Starc's direction. Pollard then complained to the umpire before Starc’s skipper Virat Kohli stepped in to diffuse the situation.While Starc may have won the battle by running out Pollard moments later, it was his rival who had the last laugh as Mumbai went on to score a comfortable 19 run victory.
