PCB demand India guarantee safety at T20

The Pakistan Cricket Board wants the Indian government to publicly guarantee security for the Pakistan cricket team for World Twenty20 in India this month.

Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh was reported in Indian media Tuesday as saying the Board of Control for Cricket in India should shift World Twenty20's premier match between India and Pakistan to another state because he couldn't provide security to the Pakistan team.

PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan told reporters Thursday in Lahore "these latest threats" need to be taken seriously and he has already told the ICC that the government needs to issue a public statement welcoming Pakistan's cricket team in India.

Pakistan's interior ministry allowed Pakistan's team to travel to India for World Twenty20 in February before Singh's statement raised board security concerns.
