India-Bangladesh game washed out as rain wreaks havoc at women's World Cup
Heavy rain forced the abandonment of the women's World Cup match between India and Bangladesh as the co-hosts were heading towards a likely victory.
India were 0-57 in 8.4 overs in reply to Bangladesh's lowly total of 9-119 from 27 overs on Sunday night (AEDT) when wet weather stopped play in Navi Mumbai.
The initial toss was delayed by 35 minutes owing to rain and a wet outfield and play was scheduled to begin at 11.25am local time without an over reduction.

However, rain played spoilsport again as a heavy shower forced another delay and the game was reduced to 27 overs for each team.
Harmanpreet Kaur won her toss of the tournament as India opted to bowl in a rain-truncated game against Bangladesh.

Initially, the game started late with 43 overs per side and Bangladesh reached 2-39 in 12.2 overs before rain intervened again.
Left-arm spinner Radha Yadav, playing her first game of the tournament, impressed with 3-30 in six overs. Shree Charani picked up 2-23 in six overs.
Bangladesh’s momentum came through Sobhana Mostary who scored 26 runs off 21 balls. Sharmin Akhter top-scored with 36 off 53 deliveries.
In reply, India were 0-57 when the rain returned to force an abandonment.
Smriti Mandhana was 34 not out off 27 balls, with co-opener Amanjot Kaur 15 not out.
Worryingly for India ahead of their semi final later this week, in-form opener Pratika Rawal was forced off as she suffered a knee injury while fielding.
Bangladesh ended in seventh place at the conclusion of the group stage.
Earlier in the day, England beat New Zealand by eight wickets as Sophie Devine bid adieu to ODIs in their final league game.

The skipper scored 23 runs in her final appearance for NZ.
As a result, England will take on South Africa in the semis on Wednesday night (AEDT).
Australia will take on India, who finished fourth, in the second semi on Thursday.
