Lehmann joins Warner, Bancroft in NT comp

The son of former national coach Darren Lehmann will be among the young guns taking on David Warner and Cameron Bancroft in Darwin next month.

Northern Territory Cricket have announced more signings for its Strike League, the limited-overs event that will feature banned batsmen Warner and Bancroft.

South Australia batsmen Jake Lehmann and Alex Ross and Western Australia's Will Bosisto are all returning to the event.

Victorian paceman Jake Reed, Queensland batsman Sam Truloff and Tasmania's Jake Doran have also agreed to take part.

The competition will serve as Bancroft's return to competitive cricket, while Warner and Steve Smith have signed up to play in a new Twenty20 league that starts later this month in Canada.

Warner has also agreed to join Nine's commentary team during Saturday's ODI between Australia and England in Cardiff.

Warner and Smith copped 12-month suspensions from Cricket Australia for their roles in the Cape Town cheating scandal.

Bancroft, who carried out the ball-tampering ploy with a piece of sandpaper that he then tried to hide from umpires, was banned for nine months.

The bans cover international cricket, while they're also barred from representing their state or playing in the Big Bash League.

Bancroft will take part in the entire Strike League, which runs July 1-29.

Warner's Canadian commitments mean he has made himself available for one-day games on July 21 and July 22.

Warner and Bancroft will also take part in clinics and other events to help grow the game in NT.

CA's punishment dictated they must undertake 100 hours of voluntary service in community cricket.

"We have a great opportunity to have them playing with our players, but also engage with our communities," NT Cricket chief executive Joel Morrison told AAP last month.

"Help people learn from their mistakes.

"They're both more than happy to get involved."
