Lee comes unstuck tying to copy Warner

Test great Brett Lee almost hit the deck in comical fashion after slipping over as he tied to mimic David Warner's high-leaping double century celebration.

Filming a segment for Channel Nine before play on day two of the Second Test, Lee took a run up to jump in the air and see if he could match the height of Warner.

But it all went pear-shaped when the 39-year-old lost his footing on the rock hard WACA pitch and slipped as he tried to launch.

Fortunately, the former pace ace managed to prevent himself from an embarrassing fall onto his backside.

But the footage was still enough for his co-commentators to give him a gentle ribbing during play, when the slip up was aired.

Lee blamed the smooth soles of his Julius Marlow shoes.

But the speed king, who was renowned for his own leaps after taking a wicket during his celebrated career, still managed to salvage the moment when he took off his shoes and jumped above the stump line – just higher than Warner.
