England battle as India control Test
England lost Alastair Cook and Moeen Ali cheaply and saw Keaton Jennings dismissed with the final ball of the morning session as India continued to dominate the fourth Test in Southampton.
After resuming at six without loss on day three in reply to India's 273, England reached the interval at 3-92 a lead of 65 at the Rose Bowl.
The hosts are relying on captain Joe Root to add significantly to his 30 as India have the edge in a match they need to win to level the five-match series at 2-2.
Cook's top score this series remained 29 after the former England captain was dismissed for 12, caught at the third attempt by Lokesh Rahul in the slips off Jasprit Bumrah.
Ali was unexpectedly promoted up the order to No. 3, the same position where he scored 219 for Worcestershire against Yorkshire in August, but the experiment didn't work as he exited on nine when Rahul pouched another chance off pace bowler Ishant Sharma.
South African-born Jennings' test future is under threat after a string of failures this series but he played with more confidence before losing his wicket right at the end of the session, trapped lbw by Mohammed Shami for 36.
