Cricket: Player chases down ball after losing artificial leg

Some players just never quit.

And you can now add England cricketer Liam Thomas to that list.

The disabled Thomas stunned onlookers when he continued to chase down a ball after losing his artificial leg in the outfield against Pakistan in the final of the ICC Academy Dubai Invitational T20.

The England Physical Disabilities (PD) player looked to have the situation under control when he took after a shot down to square leg.

But diving for the ball, Thomas’ artificial leg became unstrapped and left him literally on one leg.

But instead of waiting for a teammate to come across in cover, Thomas bounded up off the ground, hopped after the ball and rifled it back towards the keeper.

Thomas then returned for his leg before retaking his position down on the boundary.

Despite Thomas’ never-say-die attitude, England couldn’t hold off Pakistan which won by three wickets.
