A day after England defeated India in their Test match at Edgbaston, bowlers James Anderson and Stuart Broad got into a bit of strife during a round of golf.

Broad shared a video to social media from a golf day at Stoke Park, showing Anderson trying to hit a shot from the trees.

With the ball sitting on a clump of tree roots, the shot was fraught with danger, but Anderson had a crack anyway. Unfortunately for the England quick, the ball instantly ricocheted off a root and flicked up toward his head.

Anderson immediately clutched his jaw appearing to be in some pain.

"Oh no! Oh my god, it's hit you?" Broad is heard saying on the video.

In the post Broad later clarified that Anderson was "perfectly fine", before having a laugh about his teammate's blooper.

Anderson also confirmed to SunSport - the publisher he is a columnist for - that he has been "declared fine" for the team's golf day today.

"This time I'll try and avoid the trees," he said.
