An embarrassing moment overshadowed Pakistan’s defeat of Bangladesh by 67 runs in a women’s World Cup qualifier overnight.

Pakistan were on their way to building a big total when Bangladesh surprised the victors by grabbing four wickets for 13 runs to reduce Pakistan to 9/229 with one a solitary delivery to go.

Pakistan batsman Nashra Sandhu tried to get a sneaky single after her teammate at the other end failed to connect off the final ball.

It was at that point things got a bit confusing.

Bangladesh’s wicketkeeper threw the ball to the bowler but it went straight over her head as she fell over.

Sandhu thought she’s be run out for sure but eventually made to the non-strikers end when she noticed the bowler had fallen over.

But before she could make it a fielder backed up and made sure the wicket was taken.

"We need a bit of the Benny Hill theme tune there, don't we? Hm, hm, hm," one commentator laughed.
