The Hobart Hurricanes have been dealt an excruciating dose of the Mitch Marsh brutality that destroyed New Zealand in the T20 World Cup final.

Exactly one month after Marsh bludgeoned 77 runs from just 50 balls to spearhead Australia's title-clinching victory over New Zealand in Dubai, the former Test all-rounder has smashed the second century of the 2021-22 Big Bash League tournament.

Marsh strode to the middle at Hobart's Bellerive Oval at first drop, his Perth Scorchers outfit 1-3 four balls into the first innings of the game, and belted an unbeaten 100 from just 60 deliveries.

Included in the knock were six fours and five sixes, as the 31-year-old lifted the Scorchers to 5-182 from 20 overs.

The Hurricanes were then rolled for 129 in 19 overs, handing the Scorchers a 53-run victory.

Marsh's century followed the blistering knock of Perth teammate Colin Munro against the Adelaide Strikers on Saturday.

The Kiwi had blasted 114 not out from only 73 balls at Sydney Showground, smacking eight fours and six sixes.
