Callum Ferguson 'staggered' Will Pucovski yet to be ruled out of Australian summer
Former Australian Test batsman Callum Ferguson says he is "staggered" young gun Will Pucovski hasn't yet been ruled out of the Border-Gavaskar series despite his latest concussion.
Shortly after the 22-year-old Victorian was hit on the helmet by a Kartik Tyagi in the first tour match between Australia A and an Indian XI, he was made unavailable for the first Test.
But Cricket Australia is yet to even put a line through Pucovski for the Boxing Day Test, set to begin on Saturday, in which India will be out to level the series after their 36-all-out horror show at Adelaide Oval.
There's every chance the governing body hasn't yet made a call on Pucovski because of the instability at the top of the order, with David Warner (groin) still in doubt for the MCG fixture and Matthew Wade praying his two fails in Adelaide didn't end his Test career.

But Ferguson is dumbfounded Pucovski is still in the selection debate.
"I can't see them playing Pucovski. To be honest, I'm staggered we're still talking about it," Ferguson said on ABC Grandstand.
"He's had so many hard hits to the head.
"Glancing blows have been seeing him leave the field in the last two to three years where other players would have just taken the helmet off, looked at it and gone, 'Yeah nah, that's fine', and then put it back on and kept batting.
"I can't believe we're talking about bringing a young lad, who's 22, back into a Test side to face this Indian attack."
Pucovski has gone tantalisingly close to making his Test debut on a host of occasions, but concussion and mental health have always thrown up challenges.

The right-hander has tallied 1744 runs, averages 54.50 and has a top score of 255 not out from 23 first-class matches.
Pucovski and Western Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, who made his Test debut in Adelaide last week, have both been touted by experts as the brightest prospects since Ricky Ponting.
