Australia’s Tyson Pedro will go hunting his first PFL win when he meets Brazil’s Rafael Xavier in Washington DC on July 26 (AEST).
The PFL confirmed on Thursday that Pedro (10-6) would get a shot at fellow knockout artist Xavier (14-9) in a light heavyweight bout that will precede the Thad Jean vs Shamil Musaev main event.
Former UFC star Pedro returned to MMA in April after a brief foray into professional boxing.
Pedro dropped Dovlet Yagshimuradov multiple times in his PFL debut in Belfast but the tough Turkmenistan fighter somehow survived to win a unanimous decision.
“Everyone talking about UFC. This guy punched me harder than I’ve ever been punched,” Pedro wrote on Instagram while showing off some brutal battle scars.
“Made me love fighting again though. I love getting punched in the face, who’s next? Now we know the answer is Xavier.
