'Statement made': 'Menacing' Jai Opetaia lands explosive knockout on Huseyin Cinkara

Jai Opetaia has won his fight against Huseyin Cinkara by way of an explosive knockout after eight rounds.

In the eighth round, the Australian landed a dynamite left-hander to knock Cinkara out on the canvas, the 40-year-old laying motionless on the canvas for a long moment after the bout.

Opetaia continues his unbeaten record and holds onto his IBF and The Ring World Cruiserweight titles.

"The doctors are coming out, Cinkara is asleep. Statement made," said Ted Cofie.

"Pinpoint accuracy for Opetaia," Danny Green added.

Throughout the first round, Opetaia stalked Cinkara with Danny Green calling the Australian "menacing" in his unrelenting work ethic.

"He looks menacing," Green admitted on Stan Sport.

"His fundamentals are so sound, looking for the clean shot."

But, Cinkara mounted his defence in the second round, rocking Opetaia with a couple of big head shots before Opetaia finds his feet against a man who started the night a 19-1 outsider.

The Turkish fighter hit the canvas in an awkward fall but continued to keep himself in the bout as Opetaia held the pressure in the fight for the IBF & The Ring World Cruiserweight titles.

Opetaia had the busier fight but Cinkara, 40, showed his prowess and why he is unbeaten as a pro, but the Australian boxer, a decade younger than Cinkaka could not be bested.

Opetaia's left hander to Cinkara and KO verdict allowed him to keep his undefeated streak.
