George Kambosos set for IBF super-lightweight world title shot in New York
George Kambosos will have another chance to become world champion when the Sydney fighter takes on American IBF super lightweight champion Richardson Hitchins on June 14 in New York.
The Ring reports the bout will take place at Madison Square Garden, the same location where Kambosos shocked the world when he downed Teofimo Lopez in 2021 to become the unified lightweight champion.
Kambosos has only competed at super lightweight once, beating late replacement Jake Wyllie last month in Sydney.

But after signing with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom, he has the chance to grab another belt against Hitchins, who is a native New Yorker.
Hitchins (19-0, 7 KO) won his IBF belt by beating another Australian, Liam Paro, by split decision in December last year in Puerto Rico.
Hitchins, known more as a technician than a brawler, will go into the fight as the favourite and represented Haiti at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Kambosos, the IBF's No.3 contender, is 2-3 since the victory over Lopez, with his three defeats coming to Devin Haney (twice) and Vasily Lomachenko.
If Kambosos can leave Madison Square Garden a champion again, there's every chance that would set up an all-Australian clash with Paro.
Paro, who has lost only to Hitchins, is ranked fourth by the IBF, with the No.2 spot in the IBF vacant.
