Tim Tszyu and Terrell Gausha both made weight for tomorrow's Showtime main event in Minneapolis, yet the American may have scored a psychological edge at this morning's weigh-in.

Not much separated Gausha and the undefeated Australian, who both made the 154 pound super-welterweight limit, however, to those in attendance, including boxing great Jeff Fenech, Tszyu seemed to "struggle" making weight in comparison to his US rival.

Gausha, who described himself as genuine super welterweight at yesterday's press conference, hit the scales first, weighing in at 153.2 pounds (69.49kgs).

Next was Tszyu, who came in just over Gausha at 153.4 pounds (69.58kgs).

Tszyu's battles with making weight have been well documented in the past with the undefeated Sydney fighter looking a bit worse for wear ahead of the biggest fight of his life to date.

The Sydney star has told media in the past his days at super welterweight could be numbered because he feels his body is growing and it's becoming more difficult to cut in the lead up to bouts, giving rise to the theory that his real weight maybe in the middleweight division.

Speaking with Main Event after the weigh-in, Fenech said even though Gausha looked more comfortable, Tszyu will beef up before the fight.

"They both look good on the scales," Fenech told Main Event.

"I can see Tim's face a little bit drawn, making that last bit of weight this morning.

"His opponent looked pretty good and I don't think he's struggled as much as Tim has.

"But that's what it's all about, you struggle today, but you reap the benefits tomorrow."

In what may be viewed as an unorthodox approach, Tszyu was reportedly eating up until Thursday night local time before the weigh-in.

Fenech, said he's not worried by Tszyu's demeanour at the weigh-in because most fighters battle with making weight, and is adamant the Australian will bolster his frame quickly.

"He'll come in a good 15-20 pounds heavier, so he's going to be very, very strong tomorrow."
