Trump’s bizarre ‘racist’ response to LeBron vs Jordan question
Donald Trump made a bizarre claim of racism as the US President joined the basketball world in reacting to LeBron James’ surprise decision to join the Philadelphia 76ers.
The 41-year-old James confirmed the next chapter in his career by uploaded a montage video of his career on Instagram that ended with the 76ers logo, while also posting an explanation on X.

“I thought I was done when the season ended,” he began.
“I wasn’t ready to announce it, and I knew I needed some time to really decide, but I was pretty sure I played my last game. I was honest at that last press conference when I said I needed to look at myself and decide if I still love this game.
“I still truly love this game, and I have more to give.
“I still want to sacrifice. I still want to work. I still want to grind. I still want to compete, to win and to have a chance at the feeling of winning another championship.
“I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team, and I am so excited to energise a new fan base and start this incredible journey one last time.”
James’ new teammates wasted no time taking to social media to share their excitement, Tyrese Maxey uploading a video to his Instagram alongside VJ Edgecombe, playfully poking fun at an iconic James meme.
Trump was later asked to make a comparison between Michael Jordan and James.
“Well, Michael Jordan is a guy that’s a friend of mine, play golf with him,” Trump said.
“He’s a really good guy. And I think LeBron is... maybe he’s a racist, but maybe he doesn’t like Trump. I don’t know, but I only like people that like me. So I would say Michael Jordan all the way.”

July 24 has already been declared ‘LeBron James Day’ in the state of Pennsylvania according to governor Josh Shapiro.
He had a certificate ready to be posted within minutes of James’ signing being reported.
The 76ers will be James’ fourth club after playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers.
ESPN reported the contract is a two-year deal worth $11.4 million.
Philadelphia is currently trying to break a 43-year championship drought while James is searching for his fifth title.
His first season at the 76ers will be the 24th of his career.
