Josh Giddey's purple patch of form for the Chicago Bulls has continued, levelling the most iconic player in franchise history.

The ever-improving Australian produced another 20-point double-double on Thursday afternoon (AEDT), as the Bulls fell in a tight clash with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Giddey finished with 21 points and 12 assists, and with his performance, managed to move alongside Michael Jordan with a rare feat.

New teammate Zach Collins was full of praise for the Melbourne-born star.

"He's been on a hell of a run lately," the Bulls recruit said.

"We're all beneficiaries of that, for sure. He's drawing a lot of attention ... the way he's shooting the ball. We've got to be ready to convert when he sees us.

"He's a phenomenal passer, very high basketball IQ, so he's an easy guy to play with."

Giddey came up against fellow Aussie star Ben Simmons, but it was the latter who walked away with a 122-117 victory.

Simmons finished with six points, eight assists and eight rebounds, before swapping his jersey with Giddey and signing it after the full-time siren.
