Shock training injury rules Port Adelaide ruckman Ivan Soldo out for the 2026 season
Port Adelaide ruckman Ivan Soldo will miss the 2026 AFL season, with the club confirming he has ruptured his ACL.
The 29-year-old suffered the injury at training on Monday during a drill.
The club quickly determined the extent of the injury, in what is a huge blow for club and player.

The 204cm ruckman only played one game for Port Adelaide in 2025 and has had a rocky run since joining the club.
Soldo played 57 games for Richmond between 2017 and 2023 before joining the Power, including playing in the 2019 premiership.
Things did not go to plan upon joining the Power, though, as he fell behind fellow recruit Jordon Sweet in the ruck pecking order.
Soldo requested a trade from Port following the 2024 season, after just one year at the club.
He then again attempted to depart in 2025, with St Kilda the team most interested, but that fell through when the Saints ultimately held onto ruckman Rowan Marshall in the trade period.
But Soldo will now miss the entirety of 2026 and is out of contract at the conclusion of the season.
Soldo was initially selected with pick 68 in the 2014 AFL rookie draft by the Tigers.
"It's such unfortunate news for Ivan," head of Port Adelaide medical services Tim O'Leary told the club's website.
"He is such a professional and hardworking athlete, so we are really disappointed for him, and we will support him to get through this next stage.
"Ivan sustained the same injury in his left knee in 2020, so he certainly knows what it takes to attack his rehab and return to the top level."
