Sydney Swans captain Callum Mills to miss early rounds with foot injury
Sydney Swans captain Callum Mills will miss the club's first three games of its premiership campaign due to injury.
The star midfielder won't be available for Sydney's clash with Hawthorn, nor the club's games against Brisbane and Fremantle, after suffering a tear in his plantar fascia, the thick band of tissue that joins the heel bone with the toes.
Sydney is hoping he will be fit to face North Melbourne in round four, following a bye in round three.

"Callum had been managing his plantar fasciitis well, however he required follow-up imaging with the results last night revealing Callum has sustained a tear of the plantar fascia," said Swans head of physiotherapy Damian Raper on Tuesday.
"After consultation with our medical team, we believe the best course of action is to spend two weeks in a boot, before reassessing Callum's return-to-play program.
"Unfortunately, this means he will be unavailable prior to the club's round three bye."

Mills' latest blow follows an injury-hit 2024 campaign in which the All-Australian Swan featured in only seven AFL games.
The Swans academy product didn't play until round 19 due to a shoulder injury suffered during a playful wrestle with a teammate on Mad Monday.
He played seven games late in the season but was not picked for the grand final because of a hamstring injury, which left him watching on as the Brisbane Lions thrashed the Swans by 60 points.
