West Coast great Will Schofield reveals why Carlton's lengthy board meeting is 'not a good sign' for coach Michael Voss' future
Carlton have held a lengthy board meeting to discuss the future of head coach Michael Voss and the club's footy department amid a troubling run of results this season.
Pressure has been mounting on Voss in recent weeks as Carlton continues to battle at the bottom end of the competition ladder.
A scheduled board meeting was held on Wednesday in what will be the final time this season the Blues board will gather, according to Nine's Tom Morris.

The timing of the meeting adds fuel to the fire over Voss' future.
Two days ago, the Demons parted ways with coach Simon Goodwin following a scheduled board meeting that outlined the club's vision for the 2026 season.
Given the outcome of Goodwin's case, speculation emerged that a similar situation could be unfolding for Voss, but Morris said the meeting had been scheduled "for months".

The meeting was not only critical for Voss to learn his fate, but was also the final time officials would discuss such matters before Graham Wright starts as CEO.
Still, Morris understands it would be a surprise to players and officials if the board meeting were to result in the immediate dismissal of Voss.
As it stands, Voss remains in the top job, but West Coast Eagles great Will Schofield believes Carlton's board has already made a call on their coach's future.
"A board meeting ... you know what is being discussed. I don't think it is ever a good sign (for supporters or coaches)," Schofield said on 3AW's Wide World of Sports.
"They are not talking about their lists ... they are not talking about anything other than Michael Voss' future. Pre-planned or not, that is what they are doing.
"I don't think that bodes well. Whenever there is a board meeting like this, I would be confident to say that eight out of 10 times, the coach is gone.
"They make their decision, they sit around and talk about what is going to happen, they make their call and then he is done.
"I don't think it is a good sign at all for Carlton or Michael Voss, clearly."
Schofield noted that with a pool of quality coaches currently without a job, club boards will be more likely to pull the pin on their current staffers this season.

The likes of John Longmire, Adam Simpson, Ken Hinkley and Nathan Buckley were all noted as potential candidates by Schofield to take over Voss' duties at Carlton.
"I think there is pressure being put on boards of clubs that may or may not be happy with their coaches," he continued.
"They know that there is a very good quality pool of coaches without a job this year, which is very different from any other year.
"All four of those guys are available and haven't ruled themselves out. You can chuck in a couple of others that have coached at that level ... boards will be thinking, 'Well, if we are going to do it, we may as well do it right now'."
